Mat Chapman Word Juggler

The author of The Christmas That Santa Shaved Off His Beard, The Old Man Who Lives By The Sea and The Christmas That Santa Lost His Boots!

Vote for me in The People's Book Prize

Help me chase my dream

Getting noticed as a new author is extremely hard! The market is over saturated and dominated by celebrity writers who seem to be able to churn out books knowing that they will get instant exposure and shift more than enough copies to cover costs off the back of their name. For an author cutting their teeth in the industry it is near impossible to even get noticed.

In an effort to increase awareness of my books and in the hope of being able to pursue my dream of being a recognised children's writer I have entered all three of my books into a competition called The People's Book Prize. This is a competition in which the general public are invited to submit votes for their favourite book and getting a win in the competition would really boost my visibility and also give me some bragging rights to be able to push my books further into public consciousness.

The voting process is incredibly simple, it only takes a couple of minutes and every single vote counts. I would be honoured and eternally grateful if you could take a moment out of your day to vote for my books on the link below. Voting closes on the 30th April with the winner being announced in early May.

My Books

The Christmas That Santa Shaved Off His Beard

No one knows why, but when Santa decided to cut off every hair on his head, it led to the weirdest Christmas Eve ever!

What went wrong? Who went backwards? Where were the presents left?

Discover the answers to these questions and see if you can find Rudolph’s red nose (hidden somewhere in each picture) along the way.

The Old Man Who Lives By The Sea

Join the old man who lives by the sea and take a look at all the things he can see through his telescope during the week.

What was wearing sunglasses?

Who was flying their kite?

Where did the seagull fly off to?

See if you can find all the answers and the starfish hidden in each picture.

The Christmas That Santa Lost His Boots

Although he had been through the same routine hundreds of times before, nothing could prepare Santa for the night that lay ahead when he misplaced his trusted black boots.

And thousands of miles away, one little boy was completely unaware how he was about to save Christmas!

A delightful read! The whimsical story of Santa's beard is perfect for the holiday season. Highly recommend for both kids and adults alike!

Another fab and funny Christmas story with delightful illustrations and original ideas. My children love this book already and it will become a yearly favourite along with the Christmas Beard one. If you are looking for a clever and funny rhyming Christmas story look no further.

Fabulous story and illustrations. Just purchased two for my grandchildren aged 3 and 6. They both loved it and it's now my grandson's go to bedtime book. Looking forward to Matt's next book.

An amusing rhyming book that has fantastic illustrations and helps teach the days of the week. I like the way this writers mind works, he is able to conjure up some weird and funny scenarios that always make the kids laugh. Keep them coming Mat

We love a bed time read and have bought the kids a Christmas book for the last few years! This is hands down the best one! The theme is so funny and imaginative and really got the kids engaged and laughing along. I was also intrigued to see what Santa would look like without a beard! A great book and a must for Christmas if your kids like to read.

Beautifully written & beautifully illustrated!
My grandson lives near the sea & loves stories that keep him engaged, & this certainly will!
I can’t wait to read it with him on his birthday! Keep them coming Mat!

My Story

As a child I was a ferocious reader myself and have always wanted to write my own book. A career in the gas industry got in the way for nearly 30 years, but after a move to Wales and a change of lifestyle I've now realised that dream. Join me on this adventure!
